Lowest of the low are out there to scam people using Ida

FEMA reported locals were scammed by fake applications to collect money from Hurricane Ida. According to FEMA, after someone files an application, the inspector will notify when coming to home to check to file the next set of paperwork. They usually call from out of the state area code. Now scammers manage to get the info. FEMA is now telling all to ask for the last 4 digits of the registration number to match the application for verification. If they cannot provide it, then call: 800-621-3362 to verify they are with FEMA. According to FEMA, the victims will have to refile all over again.
