Long Island woman arrested for homicide of a newborn baby in Long Island City

Police arrested Lauren Becker, 36 of Seaford and charged with homicide of a newborn baby in Long Island City.

The incident happened on July 18, 218 at Days Inn on Queens Blvd and Van Dam Street in Long Island City when police were called for a baby being unresponsive.

During the incident, police reported there were drugs in the hotel room.

This is not Becker's first arrest. She was arrested in 2008 for bank robberies in East Meadow, Plainview, Albertson, Massapequa, Cedarhurst and Wantagh along with her accomplice, David Graf also of Seaford. Police reported the bank robberies were done to fuel drug addiction.
