More and more stors are boarding up in Bayside, Floral Park, Glen Oaks and its vicinity preparing for the worst. This is 7-Eleven on the corner of Little Neck Parkway and Union Turnpike in Glen Oaks. Store owners are protecting their business to survive. According to the mayor's office, there are no investigations to stores damaged except arrest during the incident and release with summons. Police will not be taking reports but advise store owners to protect their business according to NYPD officials. The mayor announced $500,000 to help businesses with individual grants and direct-cash assistance for businesses damaged by recent looting today at the press brief.
This is from Cuomo, For businesses that were impacted by looting, DFS is directing insurers to expedite claims, provide free mediation of disputes, and accept photos as reasonable proof of loss so businesses don?t have to wait for police reports. More info at http://dfs.ny.gov.
