Karate teacher in LIC charged with rape inside the training center

Police reported the arrest of Hector Quinchi, 36 of Woodside and charged with rape. The victim is a 12 year old student. According to court record, Quinchi allegedly raped the student while taking karate classes at Tae Kwon Do Studio at 50-14 Skillman Avenue in Long Island City. Quinchi was one of the instructor at the center.

The Queens DA's office reported Quinchi allegedly had sexual intercourse with the female victim between August 15 and October 15 on multiple occassions. All the incidents took place at the karate center.

Quinchi has been charged with first-degree rape and endangering the welfare of a child. If convicted, he faces up to 25 years in prison.

Quinchi is still awaiting arraignment in Queens Criminal Court
