Jericho Turnpike closed in Garden City

Police closed off the intersection of Jericho Turnpike and Nassau Blvd in Garden City reporting a hit and run involving a pedestrian. EMS is working on the scene. The vehicle, a sedan took off eastbound according to a witness. Ongoing investigation. Update - The pedestrian died. The driver after hitting went to the parking lot and parked the vehicle there. Then came back to the scene. The driver is a male in his 50 to 60 and the victim is male 30's.
