Jackson Heights native Don Rickles passed away

This man was born and raised at 89-09 32nd Avenue in Jackson Heights to immigrant parents from Europe and graduated from Newton High School. Then joined the Navy and served the good ole USA in WW II. After discharge, started his life as stand up comedian at night clubs in NYC. His biggest break came in Las Vegas when he approached Frank Sinatra.
