House pass Parents Bill of Rights opposed by the Senate

The Congress voted in favor of Parents Bill of Rights by 213-208 while opposed by the Senate

Here are the five takes of The Parents Bill of Rights:

1. Right to know what’s being taught in schools and see reading materials.

2. Right to be heard.

3. Right to see school budgets and spending.

4. Right to protect your child’s privacy.

5. Right to be notified of any violent activity at school.

The main two are 1 and 2. Public school districts must publicly post information about curriculam for students, including providing parents with a list of books and reading materials available in school libraries. Public schools must protect students' privacy, the bill would require parents to consent before any medical exams, including mental health or substance use disorder screenings, take place at school.

The Senate is not expected to take up the legislation due to oppose from Biden, the most popular president in the history.

The House is controlled by Republicans while the Senate has the majority of Democrats.
