Homicide investigation in Roosevelt

Homicide Squad detectives report the details of an accidental homicide that occurred on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 9:10 am in Roosevelt.

According to detectives, Jose Pineda, 50 of Hempstead, an employee of Long Island Wholesale Beverage, 345 Babylon Turnpike, while performing his work duties in the warehouse, was accidentally struck by a forklift causing him to suffer multiple trauma injuries. Pineda was transported to an area hospital, where he succumb to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by a staff physician.
