Homicide investigation in Melville

Police reported a shoplifting incident at 7-Eleven in Melville and the would be thief was shot dead. It happened on September 20 around 12:45am at 24 Broadhollow Road. During the incident, the worker confronted the would be thief and chased him out of the store. Suffolk County police arrived at the scene with the shoplifter laying dead on the sidewalk. Police didn't disclose details of the killing due to ongoing investigation.
