Homeless camps in Alley Pond Park

Residents in the neighboring parks in Glen Oaks and Bellerose reported of homeless camps inside Alley Pond Park. According to police, residents need to call 311 and have the city pick them up if they are willing and able without force. They can also seek medical help. Several residents reported homeless have also been sleeping inside the dumpsters at Glen Oaks. According to the mayor's office, homeless are not mandated to be in shelters due to their sole decision and the city is working on a solution to place them all in hotels.
