Hit the button now wait wait wait in NYC

The NYC Mayor announced in cooperation with United Bodegas of America to install panic buttons inside local bodegas.

The area selected will be hot spots where crimes are usually higher. The Mayor quoted,, "The bodegas are important, and what this is going to do is add an extra layer of safety."

It will cost the taxpayers $1.6 million to install the small buttons at around 500 locations which will then alert the police without dialing 911. The installation will be done by the company city hired, SilentShield, connecting directly to the NYPD central command center bypassing dispatchers. The response time will vary due to different crimes in the area.

The safety measure will combat crimes except arrests leading to convictions.

Recent crimes sparked many bodega workers' fear for their lives in need to work to pay bills.

Last Saturday, a male was stabbed to death inside a bodega in Harlem. In Bed-Stuy, a group posed as NYPD and robbed a bodega.

The Bodega and Small Business Group supported President Trump for the 2024 election. The move was in part a response to Democrat officials' decision to prosecute bodega clerk Jose Alba for simply defending himself during an attack that sparked community outrage.

The bodega cats are doing their jobs sleeping as usual.

Now imagine all 500 locations with panic buttons hit all at once. Whoa.
