Hey murder and shooting are down in NYC

The NYC Mayor announced murder is down by 22% and shooting incidents by 9% down for September 2021 compared to last year. However, gun violence is higher than last year for the September month. The arrests for gun violence is 22%. The mayor praised the announcement. As for the gun violence surge, the mayor continues to blame the courts which are moving slow. This is what the mayor quoted, “The court system is not moving forward. It’s just a fact. Trials are down 90%. This is not acceptable. We can’t create the safety we need for New Yorkers if there’s not a functioning court system.”

However, according to NYS Court System official, “The court system is working, what’s not working is the mayor constantly attempting to shift the blame for a generational unraveling of order in New York City based on a complex number of factors.”
