Heavy delays on the SSP eastbound in Suffolk County

The SCPD closed off Exit 39 eastbound of the Southern State Parkway reporting a vehicle overturned with injuries and one in critical condition. EMS reported this was a jeep convertible with over five teens transported to local hospitals.

ESU is working to clear the traffic after reporting multiple ejections from the vehicle.

Detectives are working on the scene awaiting family notification.

Delays on the westbound due to onlookers.
