Heavy delays expected on CIP and GCP on Tuesday Wednesday

On Tuesday from 12pm to 9pm, there will be viewing of the late detective, Luis Alavarez who died after illness from 9/11 related. It will be at Towers Funeral Home, 2681 Long Beach Road in Oceanside. The funeral will be on Wednesday at 10am in Immaculate Conception Church in 2147 29 Street, Astoria. The NYPD line ups will start around 8:30am in Oceanside. Both Cross Island Parkway and Grand Central Parkway are expected to have delays as people from all walks of path will be attending the funeral home and service. Alvarez, 53 is survived by his wife, 3 kids, his parents and 3 siblings.
