Glen Oaks temple racked up fines after numerous complaints

The lot, 259-16 79 Avenue was sold for $1,100,000 as a single family with 4 beds and 4 baths in 2015. In June 2016, the new owners filed permits to make as a temple. The owners, The Jain Temple of New York, based in New Hyde Park, had filed applications for a single-story, 11,621-square-foot temple. The original 23-foot-tall religious facility has since extended. In October 2019, the city's building department issued fines of $37,500 to the contractors, Thind Builders NY, Inc., for six construction-safety violations issued due to a variety of unsafe conditions long with working in violation of a stop-work order. On top of this, the Dept of Environmental Protection that works with OATH trials has issued fines of $50,000 under compliance. A stop work order has been issued since then. According to one of the temple management who spoke anonymously, the temple will be built and in the process of raising more funds even if it takes another 10 years for God's work.
