From distressed to non profits awaiting for the governor to sign

Both the NY Senate and Assembly passed a new bill to convert hotels and offices into affordable housing. The programs, if passed, will operate by non-profits assigned by politicians in cahoots with funding from taxpayers. The bill called HONDA made up of Housing Our Neighbors with Dignity will set aside 50% for those experiencing homeless or low income. As for building services, only the union 32BJ SEIU are allowed to work with prevailing wages. The budget set aside if signed by the governor is $100 million. Now comes the fine print. Hotels, motels and office like buildings can apply with loopholes. At the moment, its wait and watch for the governor.
