Fradulent activity on elderly womans bank account

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Financial Crimes Unit detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who was a part of bank scam in August.

A 79-year-old woman was contacted by a person claiming to be from TD Bank on August 19 and claimed there was fraudulent activity on her account. The caller instructed her to turn over her debit card to a man who then arrived at her residence in a black Nissan Maxima. The man informed the victim he would track down the apparent fraud, and she would be issued a new debit card. The following day, approximately $4,200 was withdrawn at an ATM in Shirley, which prompted the victim to call police.
