Floral Park man busted for using expired work identification

The MTA police arrested Ethan Jawad, 37 of Floral Park and charged with reckless endangerment and illegal impersonation of a NYC Correction Officer. Jawad was driving on Saturday around 12:30pm when MTA police noticed a vehicle was speeding toward the Midtown tunnel in the trucks only lane.

Jawad was pulled over and was unable to provide a legal driver license, registration or insurance card. Shortly, he told police he was a correction officer at Rikers and showed his identification with his name and picture from his phone. The identification was expired and Jawad was taken into custody.

Further investigation reported Jawad was employed with Dept of Corrections in July 2017 until August 2018 and then registered with Taxi and Limo Commission as a driver which was taken away when he was pulled over by cops in Long Island City. Police also disclosed more charges are pending.
