Fire at homes in Massapequa and Queens Village moving to shelters

Firefighters reported heavy fire at a home in Massapequa. This is on Iroquois Street East near Cedar Drive in Nassau County.

The fire started around 11:30pm last night at a private dwelling.

EMS transported the injured to local hospitals.

The fire was brought under control by midnight and all evacuated were moved to shelter for temporary residence.

The cause of fire is under investigation.

For Queens Village, FDNY reported fire at a home on Springfield Blvd near 89th Avenue. The fire started in the first floor of a two story home. EMS transported all occupants from the home to hospitals and shelters. The cause of fire is under investigation.
