Father of two stabbed to death in Springfield Gardens

Police reported a 54 year man has been stabbed to death in Springfield Gardens while walking home from work. The incident was reported on January 31 around 10pm on Baisely Blvd and 134th Avenue near the Garden Inn and Suites hotel. He has been identified as Jose De La Cruz. He lived near the hotel with his wife and two daughters that shelters homeless. He was working as a cleaner near the deli and was heading home from work. Police reported his wallets, phone and other items were not taken. So far there are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
