Fatality involving a car and train on Long Island

The SCPD is at the LIRR station of Pinelawn in Farmingdale reporting a car was hit by train resulting one death.

Power is shut down in both directions. Alternate commute is being arranged temporarily. The medical examiner is working to transport the body to conduct an autopsy.

ESU is working to remove the vehicle from the tracks.

EMS is checking for injuries.
