Fatal accident with one dead on Belt Parkway

Police have closed Belt Parkway westbound between Laurelton Parkway to Cross Island Parkway reporting a fatal accident with one dead. Reported it was a motorcyclist struck a barrier and died on the scene. It happened around 5:30am. The dead identified as a 42 year old off duty cop name withheld. The bike, 2011 Yamaha motorcycle is still on the scene. Ongoing investigation. Update - The officer identified as Officer Marc St. Arromand, 42 worked at NYPD's Highway Unit No. 2.
