FDNY rescues 15 yearold impaled on Queens playground fence

A 15-year-old was impaled by an iron fence at a playground in Queens on Tuesday afternoon, according to FDNY officials.

Crews found the teen stuck around 3 p.m. near 2203 Himrod Street between Tonsor Street and Metropolitan Avenue in Ridgewood.

First responders worked carefully to free the teen, using a saw to cut the fence while ensuring the post remained stabilized in the teen’s leg.

The teen was then transported to a nearby hospital with the post still in place to prevent further injury.
