Explosive device found in Kew Gardens

Police closed off Lefferts Blvd and Metropolitan Avenue in Kew Gardens reporting explosive device found in a vehicle next to a synagogue. Residents heard explosion noise alerted 911. Further investigation reported a vehicle with Pennsylvania plates was seen with the device. The vehicle is now located at the intersection of 86th Avenue and 135th Street. Police are adding more patrols to synagogues in NYC to stay alert. Ongoing investigation. Update - A man was taken into custody and reported fireworks were tossed after driving by in a van.
