Election time needs curfew lifted for fundraisings in NY

June is heavy election time and the NY governor announced curfew will be lifted for bars and restaurants. Come May 17, outdoor dining will not have a curfew and May 31 for indoor dining. The governor stated, "Lifting these restrictions for restaurants, bars and catering companies will allow these businesses that have been devastated by the pandemic to begin to recover as we return to a new normal in a post-pandemic world." This will also include seating inside bars which will start May 3. For catered events at both home and commercial halls, curfew will be lifted on May 31 and by May 17 no need for vax proof or negative test. For home catered events, a licensed caterer must be present to follow safety guidelines. Dancers will still require masks for salsa and other styles. Now comes the bad news. The capacity remains the same. 50% indoors in NYC and 75% statewide. The NY Senate voted 61-0 to pass a resolution to repeal Cuomo's food with alcoholic drinks executive order. The Assembly is also expected to pass it. This is in time for upcoming candidates to have fundraising events at halls, bars and restaurants as many do not have campaign offices or a place for gathering.
