Early traffic reminder for the Cross Island Parkway for Wednesday

September 11 will see heavy traffic on the Cross Island Parkway in both directions due to the MTV Video Music Awards in Elmont. This is at the UBS Arena which will start at 8pm.

The ceremony was originally scheduled to take place on September 10 but was rescheduled to a day later to avoid conflicts with the presidential debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.

Megan Thee Stallion is the host.

Taylor Swift has 12 nominations for this event.

Bellerose to Hempstead to Elmont will have heavy foot traffic due to LIRR commuters.

Traffic will be rerouted on the Hempstead Turnpike for locals with the NCPD coordinating the routes.

The NYC Mayor is also expected to attend this event.
