Dog ring busted in Long Island

The Suffolk County DA reported 10 people were arrested in Long Island for a dog fighting ring. 89 dogs were seized from various locations in both Nassau and Suffolk Counties. The dogs were bred and sold for fighting only by separating the puppies from their mothers to make them aggressive. The warrants were executed between July 31 and August 1 in Bay Shore, Hamptons, Amityville, Wyandanch, Shirley, Mastic, Hempstead, Uniondale, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Connecticut and Massachussettes. Also found were dog fighting paraphernalia, surgical supplies, and equipment used to increase a dog's bite strength. If convicted, all are heading to jail for 4 years. The investigation continues.
