Dead body found in Astoria now reported homicide

Police reported a dead body found on September 5 in an apartment on Steinway Street near 28th Avenue is now homicide. This came after the medical examiner's report today.

The victim, a female 28 was found with cuts to her chest believed to be self inflicted. Calls came in after neighbor reported of foul smell next door.

The victim's name is not released to the public pending family notification.
