Dead body found floating in the East River

Police were called to East River in the vicinity of East Village on Sunday, May 7 around 2:30pm reporting a dead body was found floating. The east side of 14th Street was closed. The victim, a male, was taken by NYC Medical Examiner pending autopsy. Additional details of the victim has not been disclosed by police. Reported 9am.
