Creedmoor master plan released by the Governor

Today, the NY Governor released the master plan as part of the redevelopment of Creedmoor in the Glen Oaks Bellerose vicinity. The proposal to bring 2,800 homes in the 58 acres inside the campus that stretch from Union Turnpike, Hillside Avenue, Winchester Blvd and Cross Island Parkway. The state owned property is mainly vacant after mental health operations have moved to upstate. Beside homes, plans include bike lanes, retail stores, green spaces and more.

The building details are 6 to 8 stories co-ops, 3 to 4 stories co-ops, demi detached two families, a zoning will change the area to that if approved making Floral Park, Bellerose, Glen Oaks and New Hyde Park also into two families.

The next stage is review with the environmental plan along with invitations to developers who are able to handle the volume projects next year.

A while back the community protested against an Asian Indian group from building apartments for seniors and was knocked down. This time there won’t be much protests since majority of voters are Democrats and supports the same party including migrants housed in Creedmoor.
