Construction to start for the monorail from LGA to Manhattan

Today the Federal Aviation Administration gave the green light to construct a $2.1 billion monorail connecting from the LaGuardia Airport to Manhattan. The 6 minutes ride will start the construction since this is a pet project of the NY governor who oversees the developments. The rail would pick up passengers and drop off to Willets Point 7 subway and the LIRR Port Washington stations. Despite opposition from local elected officials, the project is expected to complete by mid 2024 or early 2025. Willets Point expansion is also on track in Flushing with new developments.
