Civilian placed suspect in hold after police chase in North Merrick

Southern State Parkway eastbound at Exit 24, multiple vehicle accident with one auto flipped. The driver of auto flipped took off on foot and was caught by civilian. NYS Trooper reported it was a chase when the driver didn't pull over. During scuffle, NYS Trooper was injured and taken to hospital. Reported 9:30am.
