Carjacking investigation on the LIE in Bayside

The NYPD reported a carjacking incident on the Long Island Expressway near the Springfield Blvd Exit. This is in the vicinity of the Cross Island Parkway entrance ramp in Bayside.

The incident was reported around 3:30am on the westbound when three suspects in a Porsche rear ended a BMW X6. The driver of the BMW stopped the vehicle and exited. This is when the suspects approached with one displayed a weapon.

Multiple shots were fired and the victim ran out.

The suspects took off with the BMW.

EMS reported no injuries to the driver but emotionally shaken.

So far no arrests.

Ongoing investigation.
