Car went into the water while driver was AWOL at the Flushing Bay

This morning around 9am, witnesses called 911 after a car without a driver rolled into the water at the World’s Fair Marina. Some stated it was done on purpose but police did not confirm. The car went to the bottom of the water and was unable to be removed until heavy tow arrived. ESU divers went into the water to look for people but found none.

Now police are searching for the driver or whoever was occupied in the vehicle to drive to the marina parking lot.

This is the second bizarre incident involving the same situation.

Last time, a pursuit on the Grand Central Parkway resulted in the driver deliberately rammed into the water and went missing.
