CIP now open for traffic in Bayside

The NYPD closed off the Cross Island Parkway northbound near the Bell Blvd Exit reporting a vehicle accident with one dead. The incident was reported last night around 2am involving several vehicles. EMS transported all the injured to local hospitals and one of the victim had the medical examiner moved the body to conduct an autopsy.

ESU cleared the parkway by 5am to one lane and then two. By 10am, all lanes opened and traffic resumed normal.

The investigation continues.
