Bill introduced from convicted felons running for office in NY

A new bill has been introduced to stop convicted felons from running for Assembly, Senate or City Council seats in NY. However, anyone arrested and undergoing trial can still run until conviction. If convicted, the candidate will have to withdraw from the campaign or office. The introduction will be announced for the next step for the bill.
