Bellerose resident charged with rape and assault

Police reported assault and rape in Bellerose. It happened on January 30 around 10pm at a residence on Elkmont Avenue and 249th Street. The victim suffered injuries and was taken to a local hospital. The perp has been arrested after police found him hiding in the yard on 249th Street after midnight. Ongoing investigation.
