Bayside eatery shut down by the city

The NYC Dept of Health shut down New Mei Hua at 212-32 48th Avenue, a popular eatery in the neighborhood after violations. On March 3, the city issued violations for wiping cloths soiled or not stored in sanitizing solution, hot food item not held at or above 140º F, evidence of mice or live mice present in facility's food and/or non-food areas, food contact surface not properly washed, rinsed and sanitized after each use and following any activity when contamination may have occurred, and facility not vermin proof. Also, harborage or conditions conducive to attracting vermin to the premises and/or allowing vermin to exist. This is the 10th violation since August 2017.
