Basement fire reported in QV

FDNY reported a basement fire in Queens Village. The fire started this afternoon around 3:45pm in the basement of a private home in the vicinity of Springfield Blvd and Hillside Avenue. This is on 219th Street near 89th Avenue.

The fire was brought under control by 4:30pm.

EMS transported the injured to local hospitals.

Also in Queens Village around 1pm, FDNY reported live wires down resulting in homes without electricity in the vicinity of 212th Street and Murdock Avenue.

The fire marshal is working on both incidents.
