Basement fire in Astoria had over ten people removed

The FDNY reported a basement fire at a four story apartment building in Astoria. The fire was on 32nd Street at the location near 32nd Avenue when it started around 2:30am.

Firefighters removed all occupants from the basement and reported over ten people.

EMS treated all on the scene.

Various agencies are working on the scene to transport the removed people to shelters.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
