Attempted car jacking reported in Whitestone

Police reported around 4:45am today, a driver parked a vehicle at the corner of Parsons Blvd and 20th Avenue and was doing morning newspaper route. Two suspects, males, blacks attempted to steal the vehicle. Police confirmed the driver left the engine running and ran out to confront both suspects after noticing the incident. The attendant at the gas station nearby called 911. Shortly police arrested one suspect. The other took off on foot westbound and still at large. ESU were called for evidence search around 6:30am. Ongoing investigation.
