Assault in Uniondale

The First Squad is investigating an Assault that occurred on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. in Uniondale.
According to detectives, a grey 2021 Mercedes-Benz G30 operated by an unknown driver was traveling southbound in front of the Van Ness Fire Station Uniondale Fire Department located at 154 Uniondale Avenue. The vehicle passed through a flashing red traffic light and a fire truck with their emergency lights active/on. Two firefighters exited the truck and gave traffic directions to the subject. The subject disregarded their directions and struck the two firefighters with her vehicle causing injury to the 48-year-old firefighter’s leg and substantial pain to the 20-year-old firefighter’s back. The subject fled the scene in an unknown direction. Both victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation. The investigation is ongoing
