Arson investigation in Nassau County

The NCPD is investigating an arson incident in Five Towns. An auto shop was torched in Hewlett in the vicinity of W Broadway and Franklin Avenue. Police also say another store was vandalized. Further investigation confirmed this was a target attack after a banner was shown of hate at the gate of the Israel Chessed Center.

The incidents were reported this morning around 3am much to local resident's surprise.

As of today, the Nassau County DA's Office of Hate Crimes division is continuing with the investigation along with the detectives.

Meanwhile, patrols have increased in the same area as per Nassau County Executive Office.

The investigation continues.
