Arrest made in fatal shooting of Queens man visiting Puerto Rico

An arrest has been made in connection with the deadly shooting of a man from Queens who was in Puerto Rico to attend a Bad Bunny concert.

On Friday afternoon, the Department of Justice announced charges against Kalel Jorell Martinez Bristol, 37, for the murder of Kevin Mares.

He faces first-degree murder charges and is currently being held on an $800,000 bond, according to the DOJ.

Kevin was among the anticipated influx of 500,000 visitors heading to Puerto Rico for Bad Bunny's sold-out 30-concert residency, titled "No me quiero ir de aquí."

Kevin was tragically shot last Sunday morning in La Perla, the notorious neighborhood located on the outskirts of Old San Juan's protective sea wall.
