Armed suspect hijacked bus in St Albans

Police reported an armed suspect got into an MTA bus at the intersection of Linden Blvd and 199 Street and displayed a weapon to the driver. It happened around 7:30am in St. Albans. The driver cooperated and drove around a couple of blocks with scared passengers inside. Police sources stated the driver in panic drove 30 blocks until the suspect jumped out the window by 232nd Street in Cambria Heights. The bus crashed toward a utility pole causing a power outage in the area. Almost 1,000 residents were without power in the morning.

Police later reported the suspect used a pellet gun.
