All on tonight for the House to vote to end government shutdown

The US Congress is all set to vote tonight to advance the government funding package to end the longest shutdown in US history.

This only affects those living on government benefits. If not, relax and live your life without involving government control.

The Senate passed the short-term funding bill to avert a shutdown until January 30. Now the Congress needs to vote separately because U.S. legislation requires approval from both chambers of Congress before it goes to the President. This bicameral process ensures checks and balances, even for routine continuing resolutions.

If the House passes it without changes, the shutdown could be over within 24 hours, but if they tweak the bill, delays could stretch.

The time to start is 7pm tonight and if it passes, President Trump will sign immediately.

Speaker Johnson is optimistic the bill will pass tonight.

The NY Governor will stay up late to watch the outcome.
