All inmates in NYS prisons will have a tablet

More than 50,000 inmates of NYS will have free tablets to access content related to education and music along with communication using secure setup to their family and friends without the internet. The arrangement is made by JPay, a private company that will cover all the costs and not taxpayers. The revenue stream comes when an inmate purchase more books or music of their choice for the company.
