AI regulations coming to NY

The NY Governor signed the first bill today as a start to regulate the advertisements on all platforms by disclosing if it's AI or not which is harmful according to some experts.

AI, Artificial Intelligence is the next wave in the tech field and regulations is the one that's under work nationwide.

For NY, all advertisements with people if it's generated using AI must be disclosed fully under the RAISE Act which has a long way to go. The legislation was passed last summer and two words, synthetic performers must be added for each ad using AI.

Synthetic performer is defined to mean a genAI-created asset intended to look like a real person.

The bill requires any person advertising any product or service except for expressive works like movies, video games, etc must conspicuously disclose that the ad contains synthetic performers.

The enforcement starts at the end of this month for state wide.
